The City of Sausalito Parks & Recreation Department is sponsoring “Gravity & Levitation”, a new event aimed at providing community connection for long-term caregivers and those remembering the loss of loved ones.
The event will begin with silent reflection in beautiful Tiffany Park, overlooking Richardson Bay, where participants will be invited to create a simple remembrance ornament to be displayed on the tree of remembrance.
Local grief experts will offer words of reflection and support, drawing on the inspiration of Tim Collins’ nearby artwork "Gravity is a Law in the Material World, Levitation is a Law in the Spiritual World", commissioned in the 1990s as a memorial to lives lost.
Attendees will then embark on a short (0.5-mile) silent walk along the Sausalito waterfront to Vina Del Mar Plaza to witness the lighting of the tree of remembrance, which will remain lit through April.
