We will do our best to fulfill requests received with less than five business days’ notice. Copies of documents are available in alternative formats upon request.
Join Ranger Gabe and the Marin Stargazers on Mount Burdell for an evening of stargazing. Weather permitting, we'll observe the Moon, where you'll see visible craters and mountains. Additionally, the planets Venus and Jupiter will be visible. Jupiter's moon, Io, will also feature a rare "shadow transit." Friendly dogs are welcome but must be leashed. Dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes, bring a red headlamp or flashlight, and binoculars if you have them. Be prepared for a 0.5-mile walk on uneven ground to and from the viewing area. Adverse weather or poor air quality may result in cancellation. Check the calendar or call (415) 473-2816 two hours before the event to confirm the status. Registration is required.
