Hike to the Quarry
Meet at the gate on San Carlos Way in Novato. From Hwy 101 in Novato, take the exit for San Marin Dr west 2.1 miles. Turn right onto San Carlos Way and follow to end (dead end).

Join a ranger for a challenging hike to the quarry at the summit of Mt. Burdell. We will begin our journey at the base of the mountain and follow the Old Quarry Trail to the top. Along the way, we'll discuss the history of the Gallagher Quarry. This hike is strenuous, covering approximately 6.2 miles with an elevation gain of about 1,300 feet. Appropriate for teenagers and adults. Friendly dogs are welcome but must be on leash. Dress in layers and wear sturdy shoes. Adverse weather or poor air quality may cancel. Call (415) 473- 2816 two hours before the event to confirm the status. Registration is required.
