The WebStar Program is designed to empower young people through computer training, opportunities to work with the public in a library setting and participation in internship programs with local technology companies. The WebStar Program is also designed to reach out to the community's non-profit agencies to provide support in accessing information and building up the Community Network. The Community Network is the existing community of people and agencies working to build a more prosperous Marin City.
The Lab is a makerspace, creator-space, hackerspace, coding-space, gaming-space, idea-space, and much more. Our goal is to inspire creativity, entrepreneurship, design, play, mentorship, and collaboration.
We offer free access to resources and technology for all library patrons. The Lab is open to all ages and skill levels, and is most suited to ages 8 and up, depending on the equipment. Patrons will receive training in order to use the equipment.
