In honor of Latinx Heritage Month, join us at the library for a special screening of Cesar Chavez, a powerful film that brings to life the story of one of America’s most influential labor leaders and civil rights activists. The movie follows Chavez’s tireless fight for justice as he organized farmworkers to stand together against exploitation and unsafe working conditions. Through nonviolent protest and community solidarity, Chavez inspired a movement that continues to impact labor rights today. The movie is rated PG-13.

Movies @ The Marin: Zoot Suit
The 1981 film Zoot Suit, based on Luis Valdez's play, dramatizes the real-life 1942 Sleepy Lagoon murder and the ensuing Zoot Suit Riots in Los Angeles. The movie follows Henry Reyna, a young Mexican-American man and his friends who are unjustly convicted of the murder due to racism and media sensationalism.
