Try-It Tuesdays are drop-in hands-on programs aimed at students entering 4th through 8th grade.  All materials provided, no registration necessary. This Tuesday, we'll be learning all about corn!  While we read The Secret Garden of George Washington Carver, we're going to try to make tortillas from scratch in the library!  I make no promises about how they'll turn out, but we'll all learn something fun.  Please do not attend if allergic to corn.  Thank you! This Thursday, we'll be reading Flying Free and designing our airplanes like the ones Bessie Coleman flew.  We'll have all sorts of paper and some books to get started, and we'll fly them all over! The Central Marin Neighborhood Response Group (NRG) and CERT Quarterly Leadership Meeting brings together volunteer leaders, CERT members, and Central Marin Fire staff to strengthen community preparedness through collaboration, information sharing, and coordinated planning. Participants will receive updates on upcoming outreach events, training opportunities, exercises, and volunteer initiatives while discussing current preparedness priorities affecting Central Marin communities.

Directions: Meet at the Estero Trailhead. From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the exit for Sir Francis Drake Blvd west 20.4 miles to Olema. Turn right onto Hwy 1 and go 2 miles. Follow Sir Francis Drake Blvd 8.4 mi. Turn left at the Estero Trail sign follow .8 miles to trailhead parking.

Come get your questions answered! Fire Safe Marin is teaming up with the Ross Valley Fire Department and other local preparedness partners for Public Safety Night at San Anselmo's Live on the Avenue! On Friday, August 7th, Fire Safe Marin's Community Ambassadors will be available and offering the community an opportunity to ask questions and get answers about wildfire preparedness. Adapting to wildfire means being prepared.
We welcome you to come visit with Fire Safe Marin, Ross Valley Fire Department and other partners in the preparedness space at this family friendly event.

Directions: Meet at the gate at the end of Meadow Dr in San Rafael. From Hwy 101 in San Rafael, take the exit for N San Pedro Rd east 1.1 miles. Turn left onto Meadow Dr (opposite the 7-Eleven store) and drive to the end (dead end).

From Hwy 101 in San Rafael, take the North San Pedro Rd exit (if coming from Hwy 101 North, follow the signs to the Civic Center and to North San Pedro Rd). Once on North San Pedro Rd, turn left at stop light onto Civic Center Drive and follow for 0.5 mile. Turn right onto Avenue of the Flags; parking is available in the lot adjacent to Civic Center Dr and in front of the auditorium.
