Not sure what to do with your summer? Come hang with us! Thoughtful Thursdays are drop-in hands-on programs aimed at students entering kindergarten through 3rd grade.  All materials provided, no registration necessary. This Thursday, we'll be reading Dazzling Zelda and designing our own wardrobes just as Zelda Wynn Valdes did.  You'll bring home your own paper doll and all the paper clothes you want to make! Directions:

From Hwy 101 in San Rafael, take the exit for North San Pedro Rd (if coming from Hwy 101 north, follow the signs to the Civic Center and North San Pedro Rd). Once on North San Pedro Rd, turn left at the stoplight onto Civic Center Drive. Turn right onto Matthew Hymel Way. Park adjacent to the Lagoon Park Playground.

Directions: Meet at the Lake Lagunitas parking area. From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the exit for Sir Francis Drake Blvd west 5.3 miles to Fairfax. Turn left onto Pacheco Ave, immediate right onto Broadway Blvd, left onto Bolinas Rd for 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Sky Oaks Rd. At approximately 0.5 miles, stop and pay $8 parking fee, then follow signs to Lake Lagunitas (end of Sky Oaks Rd).

Meet at the snack bar in McNears Beach Park in San Rafael (201 Cantera Way). From Hwy 101 in San Rafael, take the exit for Central San Rafael east. Head east on 2nd St, which merges into 3rd St and then becomes Point San Pedro Rd. Follow Point San Pedro Rd for 3.6 miles, turn right at Cantera Way, and continue to the large parking lot at the end.

Learn how to crochet at the library! In this class you’ll learn the basics of crocheting in a relaxed environment. We’ll provide all the supplies so you can leave the class with your own “granny square.” Registration is encouraged Register online or contact a staff member to reserve your spot. This Tuesday, we'll be reading Vision of Beauty and making our own hair accessories!  While we learn about Sarah Breedlove, later known as Madam C.J. Meet at the beach near the north parking lot at Stinson Beach. From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the exit for Sir Francis Drake Blvd west 20.4 miles to Olema. Turn left onto Hwy 1 and follow it for 13.6 miles. Turn right at the Stinson Beach Parking (GGNRA) sign, then park in the first lot on the right.
