Stewards of the Land highlights the Indigenous diaspora in Marin County and seeks to uplift them as essential voices in our communities. Their portraits and stories carry forth the ancestral knowledge of reciprocity and sustainable care for the earth. The current extraction-based economy normalizes the desecration and exploitation of Mother Earth. Indigenous values offer a holistic perspective of seeing every plant, animal, and landscape as relatives and not profit. This intimate connection has allowed Indigenous peoples to thrive and live in harmony with the natural world for thousands of years.

Directions: Meet at parking area near the playfield. From Highway 101 take the Ignacio/Bel Marin Keys exit. Stay right onto Nave Drive .7 mi, go left at Main Gate Rd, .4 mi, Main Gate Rd becomes S Palm Dr, .5mi, turn right onto Hangar Ave and follow to South Hamilton Park. The parking lot is on the right.

Directions:

Meet at the Black Point Boat Launch on Harbor Dr in Novato. From Hwy 101 in Novato, take the exit for Napa/Vallejo (Hwy 37) and head east 2.6 miles. Take the Atherton Ave exit toward Black Point, merge onto Harbor Dr, and follow it for 0.7 miles. The boat launch is on the right, under the bridge.

Meet at Hal Brown Park across from Marin General Hospital. From Hwy 101 in Larkspur, take the Sir Francis Drake Blvd exit, head west 1.2 miles, turn left onto Bon Air Rd, and follow 0.3 miles. The park is on the right.

Directions:

From Hwy 101 in San Rafael, take the exit for North San Pedro Rd (if coming from Hwy 101 north, follow signs to the Civic Center and North San Pedro Rd). Once on North San Pedro Rd, turn left at the stoplight onto Civic Center Drive and follow it for 0.2 mile. Turn right into the Jury Lot parking area and park beside the playground.
